Index Entry Americus Libertatis, author of lyric [beg] When freedom's boasted sons
Location Providence
Citation
NM.770.007
5 Feb 1770:32 (596)
Please to insert the following . . . [signed] Americus
Libertatis. With pleasure have I attended to the many
cogent arguments, made use of by providence, in order to
induce the corporation to place the college in that county .
. . .
When freedom's boasted sons desert her glorious cause,
And, by superior force, impose despotic laws,
Let fable infamy compound her pois'nous pill,--
And with strange gripes their superb, tumid bellies fill.
. . . [3 lines, signed] County of Providence, Jan. 30, 1770.
